This meeting held nearly after a gap of a decade since 2007, was also graced by J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

She emphasised the need for popularising adventure sports and mountaineering among the school children to help them explore the state better.

“Being citizens of a hilly state our youth ought to be trained in mountaineering for which your institute has a greater responsibility,” CM Mufti told the management of the adventure school.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman directed the institute management to work in association with the Local Tourism and Education Departments to popularise these adventure sports among students.
