Indian Railways Announce Job Openings For Retired Engineers, Salary Up to Rs 210000 Per Month

The Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) is inviting applications for retired engineering professionals on a contract basis.

There are eight openings for the posts of Resident Engineer (Traction and Civil), ARE Safety Civil and ARE (Bridge).

The openings are for retired professionals from Indian railways and other PSUs.

The chosen candidates will get a monthly salary of up to Rs 2,10,000. The appointment will be on a contract basis for the first year, with the possibility of extension until the assignment is completed, subject to mutual agreement and successful performance. 

Who can apply?

The maximum age limit is 63 years as of 1 October, 2023.

The requirements for the posts are as follows:

1. Resident Engineer (Traction): The candidate should be an electrical engineer with a minimum of 12 years of post-qualification experience out of which a minimum of 6 years should be in the same or similar field of Railway Electrification such as Overhead Equipment’s (OHE)/ Power installations.
2. Resident Engineer (Civil): The candidate should be a civil engineer with a minimum total of 12 years of post-qualification experience out of which a minimum of 6 years should be in the same or similar position of Resident Engineer, Railway Doubling/New line Construction/GC/Track.
3. ARE Safety Civil/ Bridge: The candidate should have a full time bachelor’s degree or diploma in civil engineering.
