Attention Railways lovers! The Humsafar Express is now even swankier and passenger-friendly!
It has been upgraded with five new features, thanks to the Indian Railways!
To make train journeys luxurious and comfortable, the Indian Railways had launched the first Humsafar Express on 16 December 2016 between Gorakhpur and Anand Vihar.
These premium luxury trains designed by Indian Railways to provide services for long-haul routes, are entirely 3-tier AC sleeper trains
The Humsafar Express has GPS-based passenger information system and is equipped with safety measures in compartments like fire and smoke detectors and CCTV cameras. Its coaches are equipped with charging ports for electronic devices such as mobiles, laptops etc.
There are reading lights for all passengers and easy ergonomic upper berth arrangements too. The berths in Humsafar express are a lot more comfortable than the previous 3-tier AC sleeper rakes. These compartments also have bio-toilets.
There are facilities like baby nappy changing pads and tea and coffee vending machines.

The exterior of coaches has a futuristic look with the use of vinyl sheets.
Each coach is equipped with a heating chamber as well as a refrigerating box to preserve the food brought from home.
Every coupe and side berth has curtains to maintain privacy.
The berths are now more comfortable than the previous 3-tier AC sleeper with Khadi bedrolls.
The LED screens on Humsafar Express display information about stations, train speed and have an announcement system too.
