In true jugaad style, this teen from Haryana has developed a bike that runs on solar power and doesn’t show signs of slowly down anytime soon
Thirteen-year-old Avneet Kumar from Rewari, Haryana is showcasing the talents of today’s young people and showing the world what they are capable of by designing and developing a bike that runs completely on solar power.
Avneet’s solar-powered bike is cost-effective and emission-free and generates power via it’s back panels, which drives the bike forward. He claims that the bike can touch a maximum speed of 20kmph and has features like charging ports and an anti-sleeping alarm.
The teen’s impressive design was officially praised on Twitter by Chief Minister of Haryana Shri Manohar Lal.

The future looks bright for Avneet whose determinations don’t stop here. “My dream is to make a solar powered car that would cost lesser than Tata’s Nano car,” he said, according to a recent ANI report.
As part of its Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC), India is commitment to sourcing 40% of its electricity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030, and young people like Avneet are doing their bit to help!
