Railways to Recruit 89,000 Candidates. Here’s How You Can Apply

The Indian Railways has opened its doors to job-seeking candidates for over 89,000 posts.

The minimum qualification requirements are Class 10 and an Industrial Training Institute certificate (ITI).

The host of vacancies include technician posts under Group C Level II like fitter, crane driver, blacksmith, and carpenter and Group C Level I (formerly Group D) posts like track maintainer, points man, helper, gateman etc.

The age groups for the categories are as follows. While Group C level II posts are open to candidates between 18-28 years, Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) posts are open to candidates between 18-31 years.

The salary range for Group C Level I in addition to allowances under Level 2 of the 7th Pay Commission (level 2) is between Rs 19,900-63,200, for the latter it will be in the scale of Rs 18,000- 56,900, reported the Hindustan Times.

Candidates interested in Group C Level II posts have time until March 5, 2018, to apply. The last of application submission for candidates interested in Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) posts is March 12, 2018.

In good news for SC/ST candidates, the Railway board’s statement said that free sleeper class railway pass facility shall be available to them during the various recruitment stages like computer-based aptitude tests, physical efficiency tests, document verification etc.

The computer-based aptitude tests are likely to be held in April and May 2018.
