This American Asked His Friends to Plan an Epic Vacation for Him. They Sent Him Straight to India!
When Alex Strand lost his job, he gave his friends $2,500 and asked them to plan a trip, not only to explore new cultures but also relinquish control and enjoy life as it comes.
What would happen if you lost your job tomorrow and there was no back-up plan? That’s exactly the predicament that San Francisco native Alex Strand found himself in recently, when he found out he was no longer employed. But instead of wallowing in self-pity, he decided to go on a vacation, but one with a difference – his friends would plan the entire trip for him and he would have no idea where he would end up until he showed up at the airport.
And that’s exactly how he came to spend two weeks in India, documenting his epic vacation through a series of videos!

In order to make the trip happen, Alex handed $2,500 to his friends and they decided to send him on a trip to India and Nepal. The goal behind the trip was not only to explore a new land and culture but also relinquish control and enjoy life as it comes.
About 20 of his friends planned his entire itinerary from start to finish via a series of emails.

And the gamble paid off. Alex seemed to be enjoying himself and documented everything from the busy streets of Delhi to riding the public transportation.
In fact, he even participated in a half marathon that was held recently in Darjeeling!

The videos, often laced with humour, find Alex celebrating and taking delight in all the idiosyncrasies one would find only in India (such as travelling in the back of a truck).
