Conceptualized by Elon Musk & carried forward by 2 companies from the US, talks are on to bring the 'Hyperloop' hyper-speed concept of train travel to India
The idea of hyper-speed travel was mostly read about in comic books and fictional stories, but if things work out, we might soon be zipping past towns and cities in sci-fi-esque capsules within minutes!
Hyperloop Technologies and Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) are pitching the idea of bringing hyper-speed train travel in India. The project is the first of its kind and is being tested in the United States.
The concept of ‘Hyperloop’ has been trademarked by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which is now providing guidance to the two companies on how they can implement the project.
These two companies are now exploring the idea of bringing hyper speed travel to one of the most populous countries in the world.
The technology uses linear induction motors and air compressors to propel capsules. The project has been tested out successfully, but without humans on board. The project is looking for ways to make this kind of a travel experience a safe and comfortable one, before officially signing people on board.
