Three men from Vasai, Maharashtra took up the initiative to clean up the Bhuigaon beach by starting a campaign called 'BetterInThanOut'.
Three men from Vasai, Maharashtra, who were fed up of seeing garbage littering the Bhuigaon beach, took it upon themselves to clean the area.
Taking a cue from the Prime Minister’s Swach Bharat Abhiyan, Jonathan Lopez and Venance Castelino started a campaign called #BetterInThanOut.
The idea of the campaign was simple. If people were not willing to walk up to the dustbins to throw garbage, then a human dustbin named Ashish D’souza would walk to the people.

The two men and their human dustbin mascot named Ashish D’souza walked around on the beach, collecting trash and joking with people about pop culture and cleanliness. The first cleanliness drive was on June 4 and the second one on June 12. With the help of around a hundred volunteers, the trio managed to clean up the beach.
