UPSC Announces Job Vacancies for Graduates in Two Indian Ministries

UPSC is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Director General and Translator. Interested applicants are requested to submit Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) for the two positions. 

Who can apply? 

1. For the post of Translator, you need to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Dari language with English as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level from a recognised University.

Or hold a Bachelor’s degree with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognised University or Institution, and also have a Diploma in the Dari language with interpretership or translation standard from a University or Institute recognised by the Government of India.

2. For the position of Assistant Director General, candidates are preferred to have a degree in Law and possess knowledge of merchant shipping laws, along with experience in work related to the regulation of sailing vessels and traffic under sails.

Things to Know:

  • The recruitment drive will fill one vacancy for the post of Translator (Dari) in the Signal Intelligence Directorate, Integrated Defence Staff Headquarters, Ministry of Defence. 
  • As for the post of Assistant Director General, there are two vacancies in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
  • Candidates (excluding Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates exempted from the fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Twenty-five Rupees) only. 
  • The payment can be done either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of any bank, or by using Visa/Master/Rupay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI payment.
  • The candidates will have to go through a recruitment test and an interview for the job.

The last date to apply for the openings is 14 December 2023. Interested candidates can visit the official website to fill in the application form.
