In Pics: These Photos by Ordinary People Prove Why India Is Truly Incredible!
These photos prove that from the mountains to the sea, India is full of surprises.
Away from the bright lights of our dazzling cities and far removed from the fine-dining restaurants, India paints an entirely different picture. Here, there are high mountains, deep gorges, and lush, green forests. Apart from the usual tourist spots, there are many obscure places in the country, which are breathtaking. Usually miles away from urban civilisation, these idyllic places can do what bustling cities cannot, that is, provide a moment of peace and calm, which is truly therapeutic, and much-needed in today’s day and age.
Here are some photos on Instagram, which have been taken by regular people who love to capture the beauty India.
The irresistible lure of the mountains
Kashmir needs no introduction. The beautiful snow-capped peaks with the clouds swirling around them and the carpet of soft grass is the reason why, across India and the world, it is known as Paradise on Earth.
A beautiful green hamlet
Shimla is a major tourist attraction. However, its real beauty lies outside the limits of the city, as seen in this picture, that has been taken on the way to Shimla, an iconic hill-station in India.
The eager sea
When we say Goa, we usually think of bright red umbrellas, sheltering beer-drinking tourists. However, this gorgeous state has many unexplored nooks and corners, which reveal themselves to those who explore beyond the ordinary.
Jagged Edges
Humans are tiny and insignificant—just a small part of a wide world. This imposing rock formation in Ladakh should remind us to be humble.
Free Falling
We all learned about the Western Ghats, in geography class. However, the lessons one learns on visiting them, seem to be entirely different.
What’s in a name?
Aptly named, the state of Meghalaya has treasures beyond human expectations, like this bridge suspended between two cliffs, which enables one to walk among the clouds.
The road less-travelled
The red represents fighting attachment. The yellow represents fighting anger, and the green represents fighting envy. Vital life-lessons, on the road less-travelled.
Forests, the lungs of our nation
Take a moment to pause, and breathe, right in the middle of the jungle. The Nagarhole national park is an enchanting wild reserve and is a treasure trove of rich biodiversity.
Where the fields meet the sky
Bollywood movies have thankfully forgotten about this field of sunflowers, leaving it empty, peaceful and sans a noisy film crew.
Where the streets have no name
Is it necessary to know where the road goes? Maybe you could just start, on a whim, and go where it takes you!
