Speaking to Business Standard, V J Ravikumar, mayor of Mysuru, said, “The idea is to encourage more people and tourist to use bicycle. It is cheap and environmentally friendly. Mysuru is already India’s cleanest city, this is one more step taken to ensure that that title remains. We want to promote more people to use the cycles that is the reason we have kept first 30 minutes free.”
The service will see an official launch in about two months. People can choose from various membership options that range from just renting out bicycles for a few hours to getting oneself a subscription lasting a year.
