Gurgaon's new name has set off a chain of reactions online with people opining on the development left, right, and center.
On Tuesday evening, the Haryana government raised quite a few eyebrows with its announcement over Gurgaon’s new name. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, Gurgaon is now officially going to be called Gurugram. In related news, Mewat district is being renamed Nuh for reasons unknown.
The simple explanation for the name change is being attributed to the Pandavas and Hindu mythology. It is said that the region was a village gifted to Guru Dronacharya by the Pandavas. This is the reason for ‘Guru’ making its way to Gurugram.
