Indian cricket commentator and journalist Harsha Bhogle has been talking cricket over two decades. Beloved by Indian cricket fans, his love for the sport and the joy he takes in discussing it is self-evident.
Recently, however, he seemed disillusioned by the negativity of Indian sports media. In a post on Facebook, Bhogle spoke about the upsetting trend of journalists seeking only sensational “one-liners” that almost never reveal the whole truth.
“I have always thought of sport as joy. I fear that that sentiment can never get me a job on the evening news.” – Harsha Bhogle
