VIDEO: Watch These Americans Set Fire to Ice with Their Dance Rendition of Kajra Re

From Kajra re to Dola re – two American ice dancers gave a striking performance when they chose to dance on Bollywood numbers at the Rostelecom Cup in October 2009.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White, dancers from Detroit, entertained the audience with an Indian-themed dance programme.


Rostelecom Cup is an international figure skating competition. With their flawless dance moves that looked even more spectacular on ice, these skaters gained a huge numbers of fans in India and South Asia. Meryl, dressed in a glittering red and blue modified lehenga choli, and Charlie in a traditional sherwani, looked amazing as they seemed to float on ice with their perfectly coordinated steps. Meryl and Charlie have been partners on ice since they paired up in 1997, and are the longest lasting dance team in the US. They have the 2014 Olympic championship, 2011 and 2013 world championship, five-time Grand Prix Final championship, and many other victories to their name.
