The Indian women’s cricket team has sealed its spot in the semifinals of the ICC Women’s World T20, after defeating Ireland by 52 runs in their Group stage match. They will now take on Australia in their next clash, which is scheduled to be held on November 17 at the Providence Stadium, Guyana.

To motivate the ‘Women in Blue,’ Virat Kohli, the men’s cricket team captain has initiated a fun social media campaign, that has been trending!

Seconds after Kohli’s tweet, which said, “We’re on our way to the semi-finals.. and it’s time to back Team India to bring home the World Cup! #JerseyKnowsNoGender. I nominate @RishabPant777, @NSaina, @chetrisunil11 and all of you to join in. Wear your jerseys and strike the pose to cheer them on! @Uber_India #WT20” there were many sporting personalities who replied and tagged more people to join in.

Mary Kom tweeted, A jersey doesn’t care about where you’re from, your age or ur gender. All it cares about is your passion. #JerseyKnowsNoGender. It’s time to back #TeamIndia @ICC #WT20 wear your blues, strike the pose. Come on, @priyankachopra @Abhinav_Bindra @imranirampal @Uber_India @imVkohli

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza also tweeted, “#JerseyKnowsNoGender?? I’m going to be cheering Team India on! @MangteC, @itsSSR, @hardikpandya7 and each one of you – it’s time to wear your jerseys or our blue tonight, strike the pose and show your support. Great initiative by @Imvkohli and @Uber_India @ICC #WT20 @ImVkohli.”

Sunil Chhetri, the Indian football team captain also came out and tweeted in support of the team. His tweet said, Team India is on top of its game, truly taking on the world. #JerseyKnowsNoGender. Let’s cheer them on all the way @PankajAdvani247 @GuttaJwala @rinoanto and you, reading this! Wear your jersey or just wear blue, strike the pose and share your wishes. @Uber_India @ICC #W20.
