After Bus Breakdown, Hyderabad Cop Becomes Real Life Hero for 8 School Girls

When the bus that was supposed to take them to their intermediate exam centre broke down, eight girls were moved to tears and were convinced they wouldn’t be able to give their exams.

But one Hyderabad cop came to their rescue.

A Srinivasulu, Station House Officer (SHO) from Marredpally was on bandobast duty at the East Marredpally checkpost when he saw over 40 students anxiously waiting to board any auto that came their way to reach their Intermediate examination centre.

Speaking to the Times of India, he said, “When I enquired, they said that their bus broke down and asked my help in getting an auto. With the help of the warden, we were able to send most of the students in autos. However, the frequency of autos reduced and we couldn’t find any to send the rest.”

The exam was to start in the next ten minutes, and the eight girls who were left behind were on the verge of crying. But acting in the nick of time, inspector Srinivasulu offered to drop them to their exam centre in his own police vehicle.

“The girls started crying as there were hardly 10 minutes left for the exam to start. That’s when I decided to drop them in my vehicle. In fact, I asked my driver to switch on the siren and drive fast so that the students can reach on time,” he told TOI.

Luckily the girls made it in time and were able to write their exam at Government Junior College in West Marredpally, which was a distance of two kilometres from where they were stranded.

“At that moment all I wanted to do is drop the kids at the centre on time and immediately rush back for bandobast duty. In fact, I didn’t even ask them where they are studying,” he said.
