As Inktober Ends, Here Are 25 Works by Indian Instagrammers That You Must Not Miss!

From artforms to surrealism and fairytales to memories, be ready to be amazed by these artworks that are nothing less than a treat to the eyes.

Created by concept artist and illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, the Inktober initiative has become a worldwide phenomenon under which thousands of artists take up the challenge of creating an ink drawing every day during the entire month of October.

Inviting not just artists, but anyone who loves to draw, the month of October brings out the creative best amidst those who take up the challenge. We are left with an enormity of mesmerising art etched with ink on paper.

India has always had a legacy of being artistically inclined, which one can observe amidst the seemingly endless number of architectural marvels and beautifully handcrafted textiles present in the country.

And there is no dearth of artists in the country, who, time and again, leave us speechless with their creative renditions. This year’s edition of Inktober challenge lays testimony to it.

Here are some of the best Inktober artworks that we had stumbled across Instagram comprising a quirky mix of culture, surrealism, fairytales, memories and of course, INK!

INKTOBER # 11 – 60s icon JEAN SHRIMPTON An icon of the "swinging sixties", Jean Rosemary Shrimpton was nicknamed "The Shrimp" for her dainty frame. She is considered to be one of the world's first supermodels and is well-known for her doe-eyes, wispy eyelashes and fringed hairstyle. In fact, this winsome woman was one of the first to launch the mini skirt! P.S. I wanted to give her this fairytale princess-like appeal, hence the detailed flower crown that's reminiscent of storybook art. #art #artist #artistsoninstagram #illustration #instaart #fashionillustrator #illustrator #drawing #design #sketch #sketchbook #botanical #artoftheday #gallery #flowers #portrait #painting #creative #inktober #inktoberindia #inktober2017 #ink #vintage #brushpen #shwetadraws #jeanshrimpton #model #icon #fashion #artistscoutz @artistscoutz @artshelp @arts_help @help_illustrator @dailyart @worldofartist

INKTOBER Day 30: Sketch 13th. Whattey challenge this was! But here it is, finally! I procrastinated thoda zyada hi. Par theek hai.. kabhi kabhi chalta hai. 🙏🏻🌼 . X . D e e p a l i & B i l l u (in our kitchen) I shifted with Deepali and Billu in the July of 2017. Such warmth I have never ever experienced before. Sometimes, I feel like “maine aisa kiya kya tha jo mujhe Deepali jaisi flatmate mili>cries<”. Rest of the times, I am mostly eating what she cooks, cuddling with billu or running around the house in chaddis! It is so nice to live here with both of them. And so, this time I decided to draw both of them standing in our kitchen because the two things Deepali can’t live without is Billu and cooking. <3 . X . PS: I understand Inktober is over and all but I have decided to continue making portraits/compositions/doodles/collages for as long as my heart desires. Coz why not? .
