1. If people were concerned and cared for the disabled, their disability can be bearable and no more unfortunate! This was proved by the Jharkhand government which during three years (2008-11) received 10,095 complaints and disposed of 9,414 cases! Impressed by the Jharkhand’s human approach, it will be highlighted at a national-level meet in New Delhi.

2. When the ‘once sufferers’ are invited to participate in a campaign against the anti-social evil of Child Labour, the campaign gets a realistic touch. As many as 3,000 rescued children formed a human chain in Ranchi on Tuesday to mark World Day Against Child Labour!

3. It may not be ‘troubled water’ for 5,400 families of Odisha, as the State government will extend public distribution system (PDS) doles to them. The families were hit by the seven-month-long prohibition on sea-fishing to ensure the Olive Ridley turtles’ safety. This was a great consideration from the government to ensure the survival of both animals and human beings!

4. It is a heartening effort by an ex-drug addict to guide youths on how to fight the killing menace!

5. It has been proved that once a gardener need not not always be a gardener. Efforts by many organizations have ensured that labouring children are ensured a secure environment and encouraged to go back to school.
