1. The Kotak Wheelchair Marathon – Chennai

India’s first wheelchair Marathon. The purpose of the event is two fold:

– Raise awareness about the need to Prevent Spinal Cord Injury
– Raise resources to support persons paralysed below the neck level due to Spinal Cord Injury.

Kotak Wheelchair Marathon is organized by Running For Ability, a part of The Spinal Foundation, which is a Pan-India self-help group for persons with Spinal Cord Injury. More details.

2. Kitsch Mandi – Bengaluru

Two full days of the best indie bands from across the country + A vibrant and innovative flea market with over 50 stalls to shop from + Art workshops + Live painting + music video screenings + food stalls and games. More details.

Where: Pebble – the jungle lounge, palace grounds, Bengaluru

3. Free Children’s Health Check Camp – Bengaluru

The camp will benefit the deprived children of construction laborers largely. Sponsored by Motherhood Hospital, organised and supported by Whitefield Rising, Varthur Rising and Nellurahalli Rising Volunteers. More details.

4. SCWEC Crafts Bazaar 2015 – Delhi

Craft-organizations from Pakistan, Nepal, and Afghanistan with their Indian counterparts come together at the common strands of centuries-old cultural and craft heritage in a meeting and celebration of skill sets, traditions and people. More details.

5. World Marrow Donor Day Celebration – Chennai

The World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA), a global association of blood stem cell, marrow and cord blood registries representing 25 million blood stem cell donors from 52 different countries, announces the celebration of the first ever World Marrow Donor Day (WMDD) on the 19th of September.

DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry, Chennai’s non-profit organisation for blood stem cell donation will recognise the first World Marrow Donor Day in Chennai on September 19th by organising an awareness rally “Add a Million” calling out for more donors and thanking donors registered so far. Where: The rally will proceed from Ticel Bio Park to Apollo Cancer Specialty Hospital Teynampet via Eldams Road, Chennai.
