The owner of Hare Krishna Exports, Savji made the announcement on Tuesday at an informal meeting where 1,716 employees were names as the company’s best performers. The diamond firm has spent Rs. 51 crores on Diwali bonuses this year as it celebrates its golden jubilee.
The company gave away 200 flats and 491 cars to employees last year as well. In 2014, it spent Rs. 50 crore on performance incentives.
Hare Krishna Exports employs 5500 people and has an annual turnover of Rs. 6000 crore. The Diwali bonuses have been given to employees every year since 2011.
Savji, who is originally from Dudhala village in Amreli district, is also famous for having made his son Dravya do odd jobs to earn a living in the past. The boy was sent to Kochi with three sets of clothing and Rs. 7,000 as emergency money to learn how to stand on his own feet.
No stranger to hard work, Savji too grew his own diamond business from scratch, with a loan from his uncle.
