It took six months and four driving tests for Sonia, a resident of Delhi, to become the experienced private driver that she is today. When Sonia’s in-laws asked her to leave their house because they wanted a daughter-in-law and not a driver, she was determined that she wouldn’t quit – even if she would have to go out of the house and start everything afresh. And standing with her like a beloved friend, was her husband.

After facing a lot humiliation in the family because her husband was not employed at the time, Sonia went out to learn driving so she could stand on her own feet and earn a living.

Today, the confident, unapologetic mother of two has many dreams regarding the future of her children. This is her story.
