
The baby elephant had wandered in search of water, before falling into the tank. The herd tried their best to save it, but to no avail– until these officials stepped in!
Elephants wandering into towns in search of water and food is not unheard of. In fact, there have been several cases of these mammals getting entangled in situations which require an immediate response.
This baby elephant had wandered into Coimbatore’s Periya Thadagam with its herd in search of water. In an unfortunate turn of events, the ten-month-old calf fell into a water tank, and the herd tried its best to rescue it, to no avail.

Field staff from the Forest Department spotted the sticky situation and immediately came to the aid of the calf. You can watch how they rescued this adorable baby elephant below!
