Registering your pet will help you find your dog if it's lost or stolen. Plus, it also keeps breeders on check.
Sahakara Nagar Ground in Bengaluru will have a pet licensing camp this Sunday for people who want to get their dogs registered with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
The camp will start at 9 am and go on till 11:30 am. Registering your pet helps in case your dog is lost or stolen and keeps a check on breeders. Moreover, it provides the government with valid information about the census and health of pet dogs.
You can also get your pet spayed or neutered for free at this camp, as NGO Sarvodaya will conduct the procedures in a mobile van.

To get your pet licensed, you need to submit the following:
- Your dog’s rabies and vaccination record – original and a photocopy
- Details of the pet – breed, whether neutered or not, etc.
- Details of the owner – full name, date of birth etc.
- A license fee of ₹110, which is for the first year only, and can be renewed for ₹100 thereafter.
Cubbon Park Canines (CPC) along with the BBMP are organising this camp tomorrow, which will be their second pet licensing camp.
In the first one, they registered 225 dogs in four hours. The number of registrations has increased since 2014, as pet owners have become more aware of the benefits of licensing their dogs. They have even launched an online petition to fasten the process of pet licensing in Bengaluru.
