A new comic book depicting the brave Indian soldiers who risked their lives and fought for the country during the 1965 Indo-Pak war, was unveiled by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sept. 24, 2015.
Brave Indian soldiers risk their lives every day to ensure that we are safe in our country. There are hundreds of stories of their tremendous courage, their undying love for the country, and their incredible valour.
And to honour such stories, a first of its kind comic book, depicting Indian soldiers and their lives, was unveiled by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, on Sept. 24, 2015.
The book, brought out by CRPF, has several stories from the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

The country’s largest paramilitary force, CRPF, plans to publish a series of “Shaurya Gathas” (stories of valour) to honour its troops. And this comic book is the first part of the series.
The 40-page book has drawings of the battle of Sardar Post which is considered to be one of the most glorious chapters in the military history of India.

The strong retaliation by CRPF jawans at the Sardar Post made Pakistan withdraw its forces.

The fight, with about 150 Indian soldiers, lasted 12 hours during which the enemy tried to attack thrice. Rajnath Singh launched the comic book at his office in North Block. The book will initially be circulated in CRPF and allied organisations. It will soon be made available at retail outlets across the country.
