It has been 50 years since the 1965 India-Pak war – a battle in which many Indian soldiers showed immense courage and put their lives in danger to protect the nation.
The war was fought on the western front. For over three weeks, more than 100,000 Indian soldiers fought against Pakistan’s 60,000 troops. Indian troops captured the Haji Pir Pass on Aug. 28 and the two countries agreed to a UN sponsored ceasefire on Sept. 22.
