Apart from netizens, the video warmed the heart of Music Director and playback singing legend Shankar Mahadevan too, who was the original voice behind the song.
He took to Facebook to share the 30-year-old backload worker Rakesh’s video. He not only appreciated his voice but also requested him to move to Chennai for collaborative opportunities. Read more about this story here.
In yet another attempt to give a platform to undiscovered talent, Mahadevan who was checking out from Bengaluru’s Conrad Hotel shared another video. The two voices that shined in this video belonged to two staff members
Dressed in their crisp uniforms, the woman who he addresses as Doyel sang a soulful cover of Monali Thakur’s Moh Moh ke Dhaage from the Ayushmann-Bhumi starrer Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The male staff member, Ashwini, sang a heartwarming rendition of Shankar, Shafqat Amanat Ali and Caralisa Monteiro’s hit song Mitwa from Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. The trio ended the song together, earning applause from the staff members gathered around.
