First Time in History, Someone Got a Perfect 360 in JEE Main. This Is the Whizkid Who Did It!

When the results of the prestigious Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017 came out, one student was probably more surprised than the others about his marks.

That’s because he was the first person in the country to ever score a complete 100% in the examinations — he got 360 out of 360.

That isn’t to say Udaipur native Kalpit Veerwal, who achieved this incredible feat, hasn’t been an extraordinary achiever all his life. He, after all, he got the first rank in national exams like Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) when he was in class 11 and cracked the top spot in NTSE while in class 10.

In fact, in an interview with Times of India, the teenager notes that he had expected to top this exam as well but getting a perfect score was a pleasant surprise. He says, “Though everyone suggested that I go to Kota or Hyderabad for coaching, I didn’t want to take studies as a burden and I wanted to enjoy what I learned. So, I decided to stay back in Udaipur and took coaching here along with regular schooling. I knew I could come first but never thought I would reach the magic figure of 360.”

Something even more incredible is the fact Kalpit, who attended MDS Senior Secondary School, had the perfect attendance record as well having never missed a single day of school. According to him, he managed this in part because his parents made his health a priority and didn’t let him so much as get a cough. Unsurprisingly, the young man was extremely dedicated to his studies as he spent about five to six hours in a day studying apart from the time he spent in school and in coaching classes.
