An Indo-French team turned a cycle into an electric bicycle that charges while you’re pedalling or with a cable. And they did it within five hours.

It can run 60 kms with the support of 500 watts power. It costs Rs. 10,000. Watts more is, the team developed a D.I.Y. kit which takes no more than 3 hours to fit onto a regular cycle and you can do it yourself! The project, developed by Veltech Dr RR and Dr SR University, Chennai and France Col Technology has received funding and is set to pedal its way into the markets in two years’ time.
