Fusion music is becoming increasingly popular in India as more and more artistes experiment with and expand the scope of their music by borrowing from trends popular in the West.

In the 90s, the legendary TV show FRIENDS captured the hearts of millions of viewers across the world; the opening track ‘I’ll be there for you’ became an anthem of friendship among most people who were familiar with pop culture.

Mahesh Raghavan, a music composer from the University of Edinburgh, remixed The Rembrandts’ popular hit from the 90s, in a bid to give the theme song a classical twist. And to add to the East-meets-West medley, a group of four Bharatnatyam dancers have produced a video of themselves performing to the classical remix.
