This programme is giving underprivileged children from the Sunderbans a chance at a quality education

Literacy levels among the underprivileged are extremely low in the Sunderbans. A limited family income means that children are often pressured into staying away from school and helping their family earn a living. The NGO Mukti aims to help these children through a sponsorship programme for meritorious students.

Started in 2006, the programme helps deserving students get a parent-sponsor. The programme also encourages sponsor-student communication  for continued guidance and moral support. The programme has benefitted more than a 100 children so far.

Empowering the future citizens of the country.
