Indians Are Sharing Their Best Train Stories on Twitter and They Are Awesome

“That time when I had the best idlis at a small station; the train journey on which we met and became best friends; the time when I boarded the wrong train and it seemed hilarious after everything was sorted out” – train journeys and nostalgia go hand in hand.

And with an amazing campaign called #MyTrainStory recently  started by Indian Railways, people are sharing the memories of some of their best train journeys on social media. The year-long campaign asks passengers to share their experiences and stories, and some great ones are coming in.

The first train journey, the joy of meeting an interesting stranger who becomes a friend, the thrill of eating pakoras at midnight at small stations – people from across the country are excitedly tweeting their experiences. Here is a look at some of them:

You can send your stories to tomytrainstory@gmail.com in the form of pictures, videos and text. Some selected stories will be published by Indian Railways in the Rail Bandhu magazine. And the senders of the three best stories will get a chance to meet Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
