The Da Da Ding video, Nike’s viral and powerful ad showcasing some amazing Indian female athletes, now has an even better spin-off. Named ‘Nike Da Da Ding: The Other Women’, this new take brilliantly features the extremely strong women from rural India who excel at what they do – day in and day out.
Epic Spiritual released the video showing the life of these women, highlighting their everyday struggles and the way they fight it all with their inspiring strength, even if they are barefoot. “Women who have been doing it anyway, for centuries. Without appreciation, without support, often, in very difficult conditions. With great co-operation. Definitely without shoes that cost more than what they earn in a month,” says the video description on YouTube.
It juxtaposes some of the sportswomen in the ad with rural women who are doing backbreaking daily chores, are working in fields and construction sites, are carrying water over long distances – doing it all as they smile, dance and live life to the fullest.
With the message “Been doing it – Barefoot!” it brings forward the fact that these superwomen also need the same kind of attention as those in the original version. Watch the video here.
