Manjula Vaghela, a 60-year-old resident of Ahmedabad, was a ragpicker until 1981. Today, she is the proud leader of Shri Saundarya Safai Utkarsh Mahila Sewa Sahkari Mandali Ltd (SSSUMSSML) – a cleaners’ cooperative with an annual turnover of Rs 1 crore. From earning about Rs. 5 in a day, to becoming a source of inspiration for many others like her, Majula has come a long way.
