1. As many as 9 Assamese films directed by Jahnu Barua will be screened at the Jeu de Paume, the world famous art museum of France during the Festival d’Automne! This will be the largest number of films directed by an Indian to be screened in such a globally reputed forum!

It has been proved once again as scientists from National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), Raman Research Institute (RRI) and software research organisations are leading a team of scientists from many countries in developing the world’s largest and most sensitive radio telescope!

3. Water is nature’s biggest gift to us and yet it is always in short supply in most Indian States. But then gifts are NOT to be frittered away. The point was well brought home by a Kochi- based NGO that has successfully exhibited Rain Water Harvesting and Recharging of Ground Water to fight against drought-like conditions.

4. Yes…sadly enough it happens even in year 2012. S.M. Nithya was not allowed to continue to higher secondary school in her own town only because she is disabled! And Nithya fought as a private candidate and passed the exam with an excellent result of 80%.
