Inderjeet Singh, hailing from Haryana, has constantly been doing India proud by keeping alive his brilliant winning streak. His most recent and more phenomenal win was the history making gold win at the World University Games.
Recently, in the World University Games held in Gwangju, South Korea, history was made. Inderjeet Singh, a shot putter, became the first Indian to win a gold medal.

Although he had a rocky start, having fouled in his very first attempt itself, he was only to persevere and rise from there. He maintained a steady increase in all of his subsequent throws. His second throw covered 18.79 metres of distance, his third covered 18.95 metres. However, even after his fifth throw at 19.80 metres, he was lingering at the sixth position.
In a nail-biting situation, it was his sixth and last throw, covering an impressive distance of 20.27 metres which won him the gold medal.

The shot putter from Haryana has been acing all the international events he has taken part in thus far, winning a gold medal in each and every one of them. This has been quite a spectacular year for him.
“I would like to thank the Almighty, my family and my coach Mr Pritam Singh for their support. I am looking forward to the World Athletics Championship in China next month, where I hope to better my personal best.”
