Women of rural Madhya Pradesh can now give birth in a safe environment under medical supervision, thanks to this innovative project by UNICEF. Watch the video to know more about the interesting idea and its impact.

Roopwati was rushed to the hospital just before she was about to give birth. She reached the hospital in time and hugged her newborn with a smile.

This wouldn’t have been the case two years back and Roopwati would have ended up having the delivery at home without any medical supervision.

But thanks to UNICEF’s interesting pilot project, she not only got access to necessary medical help on time but also gave birth to a healthy child.

Working with the government, UNICEF has upgraded several health centres to enable women to give birth safely.
