1. Literature Festival: Penguin India Spring Fever March – Delhi

Organised by India’s largest trade publisher Penguin Random House India in collaboration with Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre—Spring Fever has seen roaring success in last 7 years. It has featured many of the leading lights from the world of literature and the arts

And the list speakers for this year is as sparkling as always or,  a little more, with names like:
Amitav Ghosh, Ruskin Bond, Ram Jethmalani,  Shobhaa Dé, Gulzar, Aarya Babbar, T.N. Ninan, Mihir Sharma, Raghav Bahl,  Shashi Tharoor, Gurcharan Das, Sushir Kakar, Arshia Sattar, Ravinder Singh, Durjoy Datta, Sudeep Nagarkar…and many more.

The ten days programme will include exciting line-up of book readings, literary discussions, musical performances, previews of our forthcoming attractions and the most loved, open air library—it features a complete range of PRHI titles, from landmark fiction and non-fiction titles first published over a decade ago to the latest bestsellers and cutting-edge books. With a spacious layout in a quiet corner away from the bustle of crowds, the open air library is sure to be a browser’s paradise. More details.

2. Woofstock Festival – Chennai

The fundraiser will have a collection of stalls for vendors to sell their products. The proceeds from the stalls will go into the Fund. The proceeds from the sales is for the vendor only. What’s great about the event is that the vendors are not type specific. There will be food stalls, beverage counters, clothes, handicrafts, play areas for children can be taken up by crèches, demonstrations, 10 minute classes etc. Know more.

3. World Social Workers’ Day – Chennai

Every year, the third Tuesday of March is commemorated as the World Social Workers’ Day globally. Professional Social Workers’ Association invites all social workers and families to join this event to make the social work profession visible in India. More details.

4. Living Traditions: Folk Music of Maharashtra – Mumbai

Living Traditions is an ongoing series showcasing folk traditions of different regions of India. This year, the focus is on the rich musical traditions of Maharashtra. Maharashtra has supported vibrant folk forms including powada, bharud, gondhal, lavni and others associated with the day-to-day life of the local agrarian community. More details.

5. Know your waste – Chennai

This half day workshop will enable Chennnaiites to understand the problems with dumping unsegregated waste, and get started with reducing, segregating and composting at their homes or workplaces.

In collaboration with Eco Femme, WasteLess, Samriddhi and Vettiver Collective, the event will feature-
1. Visit to Kodangayur Waste dump 6:00 am to 8:30 am (Register)
2. Short films, interactions, Garbology games, Live demo of segregation and composting reStore 9.30 am to 1 pm. (refreshments included, just walk in)! More details.
