ISRO’s ‘Baahubali,’ India’s heaviest rocket, was successfully launched on 14 November 2018. As we watched the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III or simply, GSLV Mk-III take off from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, it felt like a proud moment for India.

ISRO confirmed that GSAT-29, the satellite launched by Baahubali, was successfully raised by firing its motors for 4875 seconds.

The satellite will be used for internet connectivity in the hilly regions of Jammu & Kashmir and the North-East. You can read more fascinating facts about this rocket here.

Just hours after the take-off, ISRO posted some spectacular photos of the GSAT-29, giving us a glimpse into the future of India’s space programme. As impressive as the live video feed of Baahubali’s launch was, the pictures are nothing short of mesmerising!
