Teacher Saves Teenager From the Clutches of Blue Whale Challenge in Rajasthan

The number of victims falling prey to the infamous ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ has been on a significant rise in India, with five already dead and many more perilously dangling between life and death.

A class 9 student of Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district would have also had a fate similar to the ones who succumbed to the deadly game’s sinister challenges, had it not been for the timely intervention by a teacher from his school.

According to Times of India, the boy, who is a student of Jatia Government Senior Secondary School, had already hit the advanced stages of the challenge, by the time his involvement in the game was discovered.

A chance overhearing by his teacher that he had finished ‘three stages of the game’ proved to be a saviour for the young boy.

“The boy claimed three of his classmates were also playing the controversial game. He is terrified and is now being counselled,” Dinesh Kumar Yadav, who is the District Collector of Jhunjhunu, told TOI.

He also mentioned that the student had installed the game on his mobile phone, which has now been taken into police custody.

Following the scare, the school has been actively helping the students comprehend the hazards of the game. The school’s principal Kamlesh Kumar stated that the children were also being counselled on the matter.

“On directions of the district collector, a psychiatrist from Jhunjhunu and senior officials of the state school education department counselled students,” he added.
