Every day, women accomplish remarkable feats in our midst. To recognise and celebrate their victories, The Better India, in collaboration with LICHFL, proudly presents ‘LICHFL Womentaries — Her Story, Your Lens’.
If you are an aspiring documentary filmmaker, here’s a chance for you to be part of an inspiring initiative and help us share stories of some incredible Indian women.
These will be stories of women who have made a substantial social impact within their communities, shattered barriers, and emerged as catalysts for change.
As a budding filmmaker, you will be able to showcase your talents and contribute towards empowering women leading change in the country.
Not only that, you will also stand a chance to win cash prizes of up to Rs 6 lakh, and the documentaries of the top 10 finalists will be screened live in Mumbai.

The programme requires no professional experience; anyone with a keen interest in filmmaking can apply. You can shoot the video using either a DSLR or your phone.
After the initial assessment, a masterclass will be conducted online for 50 shortlisted participants.
The winner of the ‘Womentaries’ documentary filmmaking contest will receive a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh, the runner-up will be awarded Rs 2 lakh, and the second runner-up will receive Rs 1 lakh.
The prize money will be split equally between the filmmaker and the protagonist.
