British-born Indian Navjot Sawhney designed a low-cost washing machine that uses
50% less water.
The machine is based on the principles of a salad spinner.
It has a capacity of 5 kg per wash. All one has to do is put the clothes inside & turn the wheel manually with a handle.
The incredible solution is helping over 1,000 refugee women across Iraq and Lebanon.
“We see women laughing & chatting away while washing clothes with hands. But we don’t see the amount of time and energy that goes into the activity,” says Navjot
