ISRO has launched an introductory-level online training programme called Space Science and Technology Awareness Training (START).

The programme is for post-graduate and final-year undergraduate students of physical sciences as well as technology undergraduates.

It will cover several domains including space science, astronomy, astrophysics, heliophysics, sun-earth interaction, instrumentation, and aeronomy.

The programme will give students an overview of different facets of the field along with information about career options.

The lectures will be delivered by scientists from Indian academia and ISRO centres, who will also cover topics on research opportunities in space science and technologies.

The online training is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in June–July 2023 for a duration of 2–3 weeks.

It will be conducted through ISRO e-class platform, and the last date for submission is 20 May 2023.

The participants will be provided with a certificate, and those with high grades in the introductory level training will be considered for the next level of advanced training.

Interested institutions can register for the programme by submitting their details in the prescribed format through the Jigyasa portal.
