Radha Daga retired in her 60s as a textile exporter and started Triguni Eze Eats, a ready-to-eat packaged food company in 2010.

Her company supplies biryani to IndiGo and AirAsia airlines. IndiGo is her largest buyer, accounting for more than 80 per cent of the business.

Her food inspiration stemmed from reading magazines in which beautiful food and their recipes were showcased.

In 1987, she became an entrepreneur and started Chimise Exports – a garment export company set up in Chennai.

Even though Radha was a fairly successful garment exporter, her passion lay in food. She aimed to make preservative-free products.

So, she used an empty room in her factory to experiment with food along with a chef with an investment of nearly Rs 1 crore.

Products like Rava Upma, which Indigo rebranded as ‘Magic Upma’ for their passengers, became a big hit. There are about 15 products, with a shelf-life of about six months, that are available at Triguni.
