Women have been chosen to spearhead the sanitation revolution in rural Tamilnadu. The organizations working to promote sanitation in the region (in this case Leaf Society, Namakkal) recruit motivated women to work as Water and Sanitation Promoters in the villages they live in to spread the word about sanitation and personal hygiene.
