Operations Head – TBI Academy

Job Description – Operations Lead, TBA

Working directly with the CEO, this role will involve owning and running TBA with a focus on instructor & course sourcing and acquisition, customer acquisition, engagement and retention. You will work cross-functionally with our instructors (content creators), design, analytics, operations, and marketing to execute operational and growth initiatives.

Primary responsibilities: 

Business Operations

  • Identify and source courses and instructors to curate courses for our ed-tech platform
  • Implement efficient processes and standards for the business
  • Design and monitor metrics that align with overall strategy
  • Manage contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners and other stakeholders
  • Oversee expenses and budgeting to help the business optimize costs and benefits

Growth & Business Development

  1. Communication / Positioning Strategies
  • Testing different kinds of campaigns, brand communication strategies, promotions, discounts and offers to understand what Design and monitor metrics that align with overall strategy
  1. is working and what isn’t, and iterating to optimize it
    1. Metric: No. of Customers (Organic & Paid), CAC
  1. Retention
    1. How to keep the existing customers and community engaged and retained through various incentives, promotions and offers
      1. Metric: Retention Rate
  2. Revenue
    1. Identifying different channels to sell on and different target groups to approach in order to achieve revenue targets
      1. Metric: Total No. of Orders / Total Revenue

Our Ideal Colleague will

  • Be comfortable being thrown into largely ambiguous environments, love figuring things out and be energized by new challenges
  • Be curious, analytical and scientific – evaluate challenges through data and feel an experiment must have measurable results to be worthwhile
  • Have a need for speed – As a young brand we crave results as quickly as possible and prefer to improve iteratively as opposed to placing big, long-term bets.
  • Have excellent communication and people management skills – You need to consistently generate a buy-in on your initiatives and ensure coordination across teams

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in the online space – Experience in ed-tech is preferred, especially in a operations role of growing a digital first brand from scratch
  • Digital Native, with a keen interest in content trends, updated on new content formats and has the ability to leverage story-telling to grow the business
  • Thorough knowledge of emerging technologies across the digital space and passion to keep up with the latest trends in digital and performance marketing 
  • Passion to work in entrepreneurial set-ups, creating/ managing a business, comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and working in a constantly evolving business environment 
  • A desire to work in the impact space, with a passion to make the world a “better” place
