After facing a rough childhood, Pratima Devi settled in Delhi in a small shack. She single-handedly takes care of not only her own needs, but also plays adoptive-mother to hundreds of strays— and now has their full loyalty!

Barely able to make ends meet, she still pays the bills of the dogs’ food and medical expenses, and has done so for over 30 years! Pratima is fondly called ‘Amma’ by locals. She hopes her role of dog-parent is carried onto future generations.
