Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj proved once again that she is truly the “people’s minister” when she personally ensured that an elderly couple stuck in France will be able to return to India and the expense for the same will be covered by the Indian government. And yes, she did it with a tweet.
It all started when an elderly Indian man, currently based in France, uploaded a video on YouTube in which he talks about how he longs to come back to India and that he is feeling sick and isolated at his residence in France.
He also pleaded for help:

The minister, after seeing the footage, immediately took to Twitter and solicited the assistance of Dr. Mohan Kumar who is the India Ambassador for France and Monaco.

She received a response from the Ambassador almost immediately, noting that steps were being taken to bring the couple home.
