These bottles were casually thrown out by passengers, now they’re peppering the station with green! The idea of using old bottles as plant holders isn’t new. But it sure was harnessed uniquely by stationmaster C Balakrishnan, Mohan and Indu. They are growing small plants in bottles that once littered the tracks of Aluva Station in Kochi. What’s more is these bottles aren’t just a green decorative. They also function as barricades to stop people from carelessly track-hopping, effectively recycling plastic waste and serving as an example.
