Retired Pune Couple Pledges All Its Wealth for the Welfare of Soldiers and Farmers
A 73-year-old retired cotton expert and his wife have decided to donate all their wealth for the welfare of the armed forces and farmers.
Many talk of charity and helping out those in need, but very few have the integrity of translating their words into action.
In a selflessness gesture, a 73-year-old retired cotton expert and his wife have decided to donate all their wealth for the welfare of the armed forces and farmers.

A resident of Pune, Prakash Kelkar is originally from Ahmednagar and has worked as a cotton expert in many multi-national companies. He has been involved in philanthropic activities since his retirement. Father of two daughters, Prakash has the unanimous support of his entire family behind this decision.
He has pledged to donate his money by executing a joint will with his wife. “I and my wife are delighted that we have finally executed the will. As per our will, the 30% share of the wealth will go to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, 30% will go to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, 30% will go to armed forces and remaining 10% to five NGOs, which are doing good work in society,” he told The Indian Express.

The septuagenarian had been planning to make this will since 2013. Last year, the couple donated money to 40 widows of farmers who had committed suicide. Prakash has also been helping the city police in maintaining traffic.
