Indian folklore has a rich oral tradition and is passed down from generation to generation, through word of mouth. An array of tales exist in nooks and crannies across the country, and the good news is, that all these stories will now be written, documented and preserved to ensure both, hard and soft copies for future generations.
“Students of history will be taken as apprentices, as barefoot historians, and will be encouraged to collect information of the villages around them” said ICHR chairman Y. Sudershan Rao.
